RGP and Hollywood

The turn-out for Road Guard Practice and the Movie shoot was excellent. (A lot better than I thought it would be). The meet was at the McDonalds in Flanders at routes 1 and 161. After coffee twelve bikes headed down 161 to a parking lot off Industrial Park road, one bike would arrive a little later. There we went through verbal instruction and practical application of Road Guard maneuvers. Once the practice was over the group ran Toms instructions (Cecil B. DeLlorett) while Dan Docker (Director of Visual Effects) filmed. This chapter of the movie was on correct Parking procedures. I have to say I found the morning enjoyable throwing the bike around again on Hammerhead turns and loops. I believe everyone had a good time (although wearing a long sleeve shirt and helmet in a parking lot with the sun beating down rather sucked.

I want to thank all those who participated in both today's practice and the movie.

Once training was done, a few bikes headed off on their own while eight of us headed to lunch at East Lyme Pizza on Boston Post road. (See map: Blue route)

After Lunch Three bikes headed home, with word from Jim (cel phone) that there was an accident and 95 was backed up five of us (See map: Green route) headed down route 1 to Old Lyme, there Steve and Steve broke off for 95 south and Dan, Tree and Myself went for a ride (See Map: Yellow route).

I won't go into details but the ride was great, the three of us spent quite a bit of time single file on what may be called a "spirited" ride. The route list like this:

Halls rd, route 156, Joshuatown rd, River road, Day Hill rd, route 82, route 151, route 149, Loomis rd, route 16,  Comstock Bridge rd, Bull Hill road (one of my favorites), S road, River rd, route 149, Old Hartford rd, Broadway, route 85, route 207, Olenick rd, Clubhouse rd, Tobacco rd, Clarke rd, route 87, route 66, Cards Mill rd, Village Hill rd, route 289, route 87, route 207.

At route 32 Danny headed south while Tree and I continued across on route 207 (See map: Brown route). Tree and I ran 207 to route 97, route 138, route 12, route 138, Bethel road, across 165 onto Rixtown rd, route 201, route 2/201, route 201, State highway 627 into North Stonington for coffee at Trees.

The weather all day was Fantastic!!!! Sunny, Warm, the air was sweet, everyone was on motorcycles today. There were more bikes out today than any time up to this day this year.
