A ride for gas

No the Club did not get together and ride to a gas station. The Club (Eastern Empire) met at Dunkin on 32 in Montville for a 10:30 A.O.B.  After an extended riders meeting (new members) The Road Captain took us down 32 to 163 then jumped on 395 to route 32 in Yantic. A turn on 87 which took us to Willimantic via the Beaumont Highway. In Willimantic we had a short intermission as we waited for New England Central Railroad to clear the crossing. Once clear of Thread City (and spools and frogs) we continued up 32 to Stafford Springs where we ran past Stafford Motor Speedway and picked up route 140 west. At the intersection of routes 83 and 140 we met the Club group from the Central Empire (South Central) and followed 83 north past TSI to Cedar Knob Golf Course and driving range for Gas...er...I mean Chili. The New England Chili Cook Off.

This was The Tolland County's Sanctioned Ride with the Copley's entered in the Contest. Les and Adriane and Adriane's sister and Adriane's sister worked at their booth, "Full Throttle Chili".

On arrival the Club scattered and with spoons, sample cups and beans on hand roamed the grounds testing the assorted Chili's being offered by a myriad of contestants.
