The meeting turnout this evening was light, don't know if it was the rain changing to snow forecast or most people were staying home to watch TV. The night started with dinner, and I learned an important lesson in regards to baking, it cooks faster if after you set the temperature on the oven...you press the start button, while the meal was ready on time, it was touch and go as to whether it would be or not. Amongst the list of members who did not attend the meeting were El Presidente' and the Secretary, both being on vacation, while Steve Malzone played musical chairs as he gave the respective reports Theresa filled in for Jason. Also missing from the meeting was the Road Captain, Tom was busy on the other end of the state so I got to sit at the E-Board table and give his report. (No stories involved). Discussions involved the up coming blessing (which Paul Neves brought the flyer's for) and a run for a State Trooper who was involved in an accident, Also brought up is a ride to take place in Brockton Massachusetts for a late husband and wife team that began a Harley dealership in the 40's.
Also brought up at the meeting was a reminder regarding passing the hat, If a member has an idea for passing the hat they are respectfully requested to bring it up with the E-board before hand.
Jim Sullivan thanked the Club again for not only their generosity in giving money for his recent Penguin Plunge but for the support given by the turn out for the event. He said it was great to stand up on the balcony with the other crazies and look out on a sea of Blue and Yellow patches.
Two members of the Club were surprised tonight when birthday cakes were brought out for them, both Karen and Theresa were given the duty of blowing out the candles and having to listen to a out of tune rendition of Happy Birthday from the Club. Both received the aerosol Frosting cans as gifts (left over from decorating their cakes) and Theresa also got nailed. (More on that later).
I would like to Thank Linda for painting the kitchen and her, Bubha and Wolfie for putting up the cabinets and pan racks. If anyone didn't notice it would be safe to say the kitchen looks a thousand times better.
Rich Woodhall mentioned that the clothes and food the Club had collected have been delivered and was greatly appreciated.
Now, back to Theresa getting nailed, on her way to the Club, (one of only two bikes to attend), she noticed what sounded like a helicpter "whopping" from the back of her bike, as she turned from Old Colchester road onto Moxley she found that the back of the bike slude (spel?) Arriving at the Club it was determined her rear tire had partially deflated. It was decided to ride the bike to Dans where it was found she had picked up a nail, the bike sat out the meeting in Dans garage. After the meeting Charlie's trailer was emptied and attached to Everts truck. Evert, Dan and myself headed to Dan's and loaded the bike up while Mister Malzone gave her a ride home. The bike will be arriving at Central Sports tomorrow morning. So I am sorry to say if you were looking forward to seeing her at Sundays ride, it isn't to be.
klay
