Help Progressive feed America by eating corn at motorcycle rallies around the country.Bikers countrywide can help their communities by chowing down on free corn. For the second year in a row, Progressive is giving away hot roasted corn on the cob at motorcycle rallies across the country and encouraging people to make a small donation to their local food bank.

The program, called “Corn for Kids,” benefits local Feeding America food banks to feed needy children and their families and other charities. Last year bikers fed nearly 170,000 families by eating 46,000 ears of free corn and making donations to local Feeding America food banks.

“Bikers are a charitable bunch,” said Marcy Gray, long-time rider and a motorcycle product manager at Progressive. “Hot, sweet roasted corn is the perfect treat to attract bikers; we are thrilled to see so many partake in the program and hope to increase participation this year.”

During 2009, the Corn for Kids program offered corn on the cob at 15 different rallies. So be sure to keep an eye out at the next rally for a chance to enjoy some hot-roasted corn for a cause.Progressive will offer the “Corn for Kids” program at 15 motorcycle rallies across the country. Visit the Progressive Motorcycle Facebook page (Facebook.com/ProgressiveMotorcycle) for a complete list of events.

Starting April 15, people can also participate by going to the Corn for Kids page on Progressive.com to simply click a button and show their support. One meal per click will be donated to local Feeding America food banks. With combined efforts, Progressive’s goal is to provide 500,000 meals to needy children and their families.
