Trip info

The Ride to the Ghost using 395 south, I-95, rte 9, rte 80, rte 66, rte 691, rte 84 to Waterbury Ct., then rte 8 , rte 254,  rte 63, and rte 7 through Massachusetts to Bennington Vermont, then rte 9, and  rte 100 to the Gray Ghost Inn, was roughly 209 miles.

Leaving The Gray Ghost (about 10 minutes after arriving), Sandwich, Vinny Pons, and myself ran down 100 and 9 into Brattleboro, then along the Connecticut river, down 142 to route 10 in Gill Mass. From there we ran into Greenfield Mass and stopped at Roberto's Pizza for dinner before running south on 10 to Deerfield Mass. A run down River road (along the Connecticut river again) to route 116 in Sunderland, and Vinny broke off taking  116 over to 91 South. Sandwich and I took 116 into Amhurst, then 9 south to 202, then 181 into Palmer. Route 20 east, across the tracks at the Steaming Tender, to route 32.

In Monson we stopped at Dunkin and because there was beginning to be more shade than sun and the temperature was dropping. We chose to add layers, Reuben a long sleeve, while I donned a leather coat. The next stop would be the state line to get rid of my helmet.  We blasted into Stafford and Reuben asked why I hadn't got rid of the helmet. I simply said, "it's warm".

Route 32 into Coventry, then Cider Mill and Mountain to the Beaumont Highway. Then 32 to 395 then 2a to 117, Spicer Hill, Gallup Hill, Pumpkin Hill, 184 and home.  The return run was around 163 miles.

So all in all around 372 miles. Not a bad Saturday at all. The weather was fantastic all day and the company was excellent.
