Have you looked out the window?

It would appear, winter may be upon us.

One look out the window and you should notice that there is white crap all over the glass on your automoile, this white stuff is called snow.

What is snow?

Snow cover is a part of the cryosphere, which traces its origins to the Greek word kryos for frost. Snow is precipitation in the form of ice crystals. It originates in clouds when temperatures are below the freezing point (0 degrees Celsius, or 32 degrees Fahrenheit), when water vapor in the atmosphere condenses directly into ice without going through the liquid stage. Once an ice crystal has formed, it absorbs and freezes additional water vapor from the surrounding air, growing into a snow crystal or snow pellet, which then falls to Earth.

This all means..if it were to keep up from here on out...you are done riding for the season.

But we know better don't we, there will be times when it will stop, there will be salt placed on the roads, and this means you will be able to ride. It also means you will be washing your bike after every ride (if you don't now). Or else that pretty white coating on the bike will begin to eat its way into your paint.

So..get out there and enjoy....oh..one last thing...did I mention snow is slippery?
It is...so is it's big brother...sheet ice.
