We had about 20 bikes by my estimation ( I didn't count); including some guests from the Iron Order MC.
The route started out with back roads: Raymond Hill Road to Rt. 163 to South Road in Bozrah, to Bishop Road, back on Rt. 163 to Gager Road to Browning Road to Yantic Lane, Yantic, to Fitchville Road, to Rt 32 to Baltic Road in Franklin to Rt. 207, back into Baltic, to Rt. 97 to Baltic-Hanover Road into Hanover. To Hanover Rd., to Woodchuck Road, To Water Street, to Route 14 to the Dunkin Donuts at Rt. 169 for an extended bathroom break. Only a "One-Seater" at this venue and about twenty of us (no exaggeration) in line.
From here we took Rt. 169 up into Woodstock and connected with Rt. 171 West. to Rt.197, to Rt. 190 down into Stafford Springs where we stopped to refuel. It was here that we split up into two groups. Most of us continued down Rt. 32 towards Coventry and a smaller group left for the Swap Meet at the Stafford Motor Speedway.
It's a good thing that the Bidwell Tavern had expanded its main dining room and added an outdoor patio, because the place was packed. We had to park all the way in the back.
We arrived about an hour later than expected to find Jim & Judy, Jason and his date, Dale & Melinda, Paul & Sherry, and Tracy & Bree (her new granddaughter) waiting for us. They had pushed a bunch of tables together that stretched the length of the dining room, but it wasn't big enough, so we commandeered another three tables along the walls.
I sat at a small table with Kieth and Pam. Our orders were taken toward the end, but somehow our food came out first. We stuck with their famous wings in various flavors and rounded out the meal with french fries and loaded potato skins. Sorry, no pictures of the food. I was to busy eating!
Rich and Pam caught up with us here after they had visited the swap meet. They commented that the swap meet wasn't half as big as it had been in previous years and most of the vendors this time were from out of state.
We mounted up and prepared to depart for dessert. We took Rt. 31 to Rt. 32 South, took a diversion around the South Side of Willimantic where we connected with Rt. 32 again and then took Plains Road, which runs right into Rt. 14 East. We made a left onto Rt. 169 and pulled into Canterbury Cones for dessert.
I knew these mirrors would come in handy. Don't worry darling, you look marvelous!
Can you see him? Look closer.

"Dogs Allowed" but you've got to be responsible.
We had some fun playing around too....
Just use the Port-A-Potty!
Hey Margo, be a sport and put your face in the hole.
Dave must have put her up to this!
Only Margo would be such a good sport!
A good ride leader is prepared for all needs of the group. Especially after all those chicken wings!
All good things must come to an end.
