More than I thought

The bike is at Mikes, as I said in an earlier posting, it turns out the oil leak was more serious than we at first thought. It turns out that the primary drive had a leak and it had been going on for a while. There is a bushing on the drive that has to be pressed on and off, not mine, it was so oil soaked it slid right out. Turns out this is also the reason the bike has been suffering from a lack of power at take off. It used to snap off the line, but with the system oil soaked it was slipping all over the place.

Luckily, the bike is under warranty and the parts to repair the issue were on hand, so no cost and all fixed. The tail light recall has been done, the 20,000 mile service was completed and all that is left is the CB. Visiting the shop this afternoon found the bike up on the rack with the fairing off, the seat and tank removed and wires hanging all over the place. Not a pretty picture.
