Ron Durand

..

From the President

It is my sad duty to inform you that we lost a member today, Easter Sunday. Ron Durand lost his battle with pnemonia and passed this 4th day of April 2010.

Ron loved the Club more than most to a level that made him decide to actually have the Club patch/logo tatooed to his shoulder a few years ago. He was a gentle man and will be dearly missed.

Our sympathy to Ron's wife Sherry and family.

Almost a year ago Ron asked me to take over this Blog because he was having medical issues, This is and will always remain, Ron's Blog "The Beard in the Wind". Ron for me was like family, one of the nicest people you could know. He was one of the few people who filled out a meet the members form, but alas never got to forward it to me. He was always concerned about the Club and wanted to do what was best for it.

I hope wherever he is, the sun is shining, the roads are smooth.

  2. Mike, when you printed the book "In The Wind" and gave Ron the first copy he was so proud to have his words in print. You probably didn't know it but that had been one of his life long dreams. I'll never forget the look on his face when he showed it to me! Ron was so proud of the NLMC he told people about the club wherever we went...whether they wanted to listen or not...and always tried to recruit new members. This club was such a part of his life for the last few years and I will always love all of you for making him so happy and for accepting and understanding him for the warm, caring, wonderful man that he was. Ron loved everyone in the club and when I'd get upset about something concerning the club he always say "the good of the club" was what was important. He truly believed that and always tried to look for what was best for the club as a whole rather than what he would have liked to see happen in any situation. I pray he can see us down here and feel the love for him. He'd love all of this attention even though he'd neve ask for it!
