From the President

Thanks to all who volunteered for the NLMC 4th Annual Season Kick Off and Bike Blessing. There must have been 50 NLMC motorcycles parked in the volunteer section. Many members who could not volunteer showed up and participated as a patron. Thanks to all of them aslo for supporting the Club. This is one of those events that takes months of planning, solicitation of vendors, solicitation of t-shirt sponsors, re-defining previous year plans, gathering equipment, setting up, breaking down and the list goes on. Why do we do it? Certainly not for monetary rewards. We do it for that positive image. We want to be know as the good guy biker club. We do it to recruit new members. We do it because we want to be seen as a charitable organization. We do it because we have greatest commraderie among the absolute best members of any Club on earth. We are not just a Club we are a big family. What we do as a group is much more than riding motorcycles.

Though the turnout was poor this year, (+ - 350 riders) I believe we made enough to pay for the insurance and still have the ability to donate $ 1,000.00 to the Covenant Shelter. I think we made another $ 150.00 from donation cans that will go directly to the Covenant Shelter. I heard good comments about the give away t-shirts and the new Blessing traffic plan. I think this was the smoothest event to date. Better temperatures was the only missing piece.

Again thanks to all you great people, BE PROUD! Jim
