It's just not fair...

Last January 1st it was freezing cold, we hid behind the building to stay out of the wind while the bathers readied themselves. It was great, a bunch of lunatics standing out in the freezing cold, jumping up and down to stay warm, then running in the water, spashing around before running out to the warmth of blankets. This year, one of the Club decided to go in, the day before it snowed, the night before it snowed, the morning of the first...it was warm at about 38 degrees and no breeze, it was down right tropical.

The morning of the first, eleven members of the Club met at Norm's diner for breakfast at 9am. We sat around with Mark and Brenda (Brenda worked while Mark drank coffee) and talked away the morning. After two weeks without meetings it was nice to see a few of the faces again, it is amazing, it was lijke withdrawal symptons come to an end. The weather was nice but the snow on the roads and parking lots meant it was four wheelers only. Registration was at 11am, so after about two hours of chat we headed down to Eastern Point to get our volunteer registered.

At Eastern Point the sky was overcast but the air was comfortable warm with no breeze.

Dave Adams (our volunteer) registered then modeled his choice of designer clothes.

Although I have to say the shoes were a bit...ah...different...

Dave even made a new friend, Something about the carrot he liked...

Most of us were smart enough to watch and not participate...

In every group there is always one that gets overtaken with curiosity...

Silly man...

He will find out that that water is cold.

Dave finds others with the same taste in clothing as himself.

The clothing starts coming off in preparation of the dive

NOON_TIME !!! Everyone runs in and back out

We were wondering for a while where Santa was.. every year he walks in up to his knees and splashes water on his face and it looked like this year he wouldn't show, but as the crowd came out of the water Santa walked in with his cane.

With it all over the members headed to Dunkin Donuts at the 5 corners in Groton for another bull session before breaking up and heading home.
An enjoyable day for all.

And when it was all said and done, the locals still couldn't see what all the hub-bub was about.

Who knows, maybe Dave started something, maybe next year more of the club will join him...

Maybe not

klay
