Dear NLMC Members,

We are pleased to bring you this exciting news as the result of NLMC’s presence at the 2010 Northeast Motorcycle Expo at the Connecticut Expo Center in Hartford this past weekend:

Booth. Kev-Marv donated the 10x10 space to NLMC and the club paid a nominal fee for electricity to have the ability to run a slideshow presentation that was so popular, we are in the process of making it available on the NLMC web site!

Recruitment. This year, NLMC took a more formal approach to member recruitment with entry forms for a free give away of two $100 gift certificates to Motorsports Nation (donated by them to NLMC for this purpose) and complimentary NLMC memberships.

Of the 103 entries that were completed:

· 44 requested information on becoming a member of the club,

· 31 indicated they would like to know more about the club, and

· 70 requested to receive e-mails on future club events.

Public Relations. We spoke to many people who have seen our club on the road and who have visited the NLMC website and were glad to have an opportunity for a conversation - and in not only talking to fellow motorcyclists, clubs, vendors, and potential new members, the following were accomplished:

· Vendors. Several connections were made with potential vendors for the Bike Blessing, including our ever present Eileen of Sewing Hog Wild, who gives a discount to NLMC members.

· MSF/CONREP. Arrangements are being made to bring the new SMARTrainer tool right to the NLMC Clubhouse! Check it out here www.msf-usa.org/smartrainer/video.html. Also, MSF/CONREP has agreed to again be a vendor at the Bike Blessing and donated a box of 250 Connecticut State Motorcycle Maps to the club (available at the clubhouse).

· PGR. We connected with Bob Stone, Connecticut State Captain, et al. for future cooperation between NLMC and the PGR.

· Haymond Law Firm. John Haymond has agreed to return to the NLMC clubhouse to do a brief talk on motorcyclist liability and has committed to a booth staffed by the Haymond Girls at the Bike Blessing, which is published in their now available 2010 Motorcycle Events Preview along with a photo of our members at the Gift Run (same photo as seen in the Cruiser News article).

Here are two photos of the NLMC booth. More photos of the booth, custom bikes and other fun things from the Expo can be seen on NLMC’s In the Wind online blog by Mark Beebe (http://beardinthewind.blogspot.com/) and on Snapfish.com (http://www5.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=3649216013/a=75416033_93988467/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/).

Thank You to:

· Expo Committee, headed by Les and Adriane Cropley: Paul Neves, Sue and Steve Distasio, and Rich Woodhall.

· Volunteers, who paid for their own parking and admission: Craig Wormald, Steve Murphy, Jim Scarritt, Dan Dunn, Mark Beebe, Brenda Marciano, Steve and Joanne Natale, Jim and Judy Moran, Jason Moran, Tom Lloret, and Theresa Anderson. We also thank Steve Malzone and Nelly Woodhall, who had agreed to volunteer but were unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances.

· Steve Distasio: building and donating the podium and easel.

· Sue and Steve Distasio: creating slideshow presentation.

· Rich Woodhall: donating bike blessing/event calendar and entry form copies.

· Steve Natale: electrical support.

· Members who stopped by the booth to say hello: too many to mention in fear of leaving someone out!

If you have any feedback on this event, please drop us a note at tolland@newlondonmotorcycleclub.com.

Thank you,
Les and Adriane Cropley
