The Club has begun it's off site Mystery rides, while the main ride still comes out of David's Place for the membership, there are three other rides leaving every Thursday night. The idea behind this is to get non-club members, customers of the dealerships, to join the rides.
Paul leads the ride out of Motorsports Nation in Waterford on Cross Roads. Jim leads out of New England Cycle works off 184 in Groton Ct. and Dave Adams leads the Ride out of Mikes also on 184.
Thursday I joined Dave Adams as his tailgunner for the ride. Mikes was ready, They had a table with drinks and had purchased Hotdogs from 5 Guys to give to the riders. But between the "Day of Rain" and I believe a, so far, lack of exposure, the ride consisted of the two of us with Margo. I can say that the Hot Dog was tasty, and Mike gave us a bag full to take back to the club.
My opinion...
I think the broken ride pattern is a great idea, (how many times can you run out of Davids on the same roads). But...These rides really need to be advertised. If the riding public doesn't know about them they won't ride them.
