For those interested in the answers to the pics of the engines this morning, the answers are:

A-IRON HEAD   The Ironhead Sportster engine was introduced in 1957 with the X Model Harley Davidson Sportster and lasted almost 30 years (THIRTY years !!!) until in 1986 this beautiful powerpack was replaced by the current Harley Evolution or Evo engine

B-FLATHEAD PRODUCED 1929-1973 The 45 cubic inch V-twin engine (later to be known as the "flathead") is introduced on the D model.

C-REVOLUTION   developed by Harley-Davidson's Powertrain Engineering team and Porsche Engineering in Stuttgart, Germany. It is a liquid cooled, dual overhead cam, internally counterbalanced 60 degree V-twin engine with a displacement of 69 cubic inch (1130 cc), producing 115 hp (86 kW) at 8250 rpm at the crank, with a redline of 9000 rpm

D-EVOLUTION   1984-1999    1340cc V²® Evolution® engine on five models including the all-new Softail®. The result of seven years of development, the Evolution engine produces more power at every speed, runs cooler, cleaner and is oil-tight

E-KNUCKLE     1936-1947  Harley-Davidson introduces the EL  An overhead valve, 61 cubic inch powered bike. With increased horsepower and bold styling changes, the motorcycle quickly earns the nickname of "Knucklehead," due to the shape of its rocker boxes.  The same year, the Motor Company introduces a 80 cubic inch side valve engine. 3D link: http://3d-files.co.il/Harley_Davidson_Knucklehead_Engine.htm

J- TWIN CAM 96  2007-  The 88 represents the displacement of the standard engine in cubic inches. The bore is 3.75 in (95 mm) and the stroke is 4.00 in (102 mm), meaning the actual displacement is 88.357 cubic inches (1,447.91 cc),[1] commonly rounded up to 1450 cc. The motor company released a 95 cubic inch upgrade kit a year later to increase the displacement to 1,550 cc. Likewise, the Twin Cam 96 is approximately 1,584 cc. The company has released 103-cubic-inch (1,688 cc) and 110-cubic-inch (1,803 cc) kits for the TC96.

There was also the TWIN CAM 88 1999-2006  On the Touring and Dyna motorcycle families. The 2000 model year Softail® models are outfitted with the Twin Cam 88B™ engine, a counter-balanced version of the Twin Cam 88.
