"Road Guards" not the vulgar "Blocker"

Road Guards are essential to a safe ride, they allow the Club to pass through intersections safely. Up through the end of last year we had a good group, good as in quantity of and capabilities, this year...we have very few Guards showing up for the rides. Part of the problem is jobs requiring people to work late and people moving away.

The last ride we were lucky in that we had two show up and we had two Road Sergeants who could fill in. The problem is we can not depend on having just enough on hand because at any given moment one or two may be unable to ride.

So with that in mind "We need More Road Guards".

If you are interested let the Road Guard Captain know...He is at the Thursday night meetings.

Important fact: Road Guards can NOT have a passenger with them and they have to be able to handle their bikes at the Road Guard Captains standards. This pretty much means being able to make a hammerhead turn (on your bike) in "A"  lane. no Y turns, no running through the gravel and under brush.

So if you want to be a Road Guard and know you can do what's required see Good 'ol Tom.

If you don't think you can do the turns, get the measurment from him, then practice and when you can...then try out.

What it comes down to is we need Guards, We need you.
