Actually the riders did improve over their practice runs last week. The group actually had a couple bikes that completed an entire run through St. Christopher cross. That would be the bikes of Mike Henry and Evert Gawindo. The rest...well.
It wasn't always pretty
Tom was the first to have a moment..
Evert had the best dismount, with a front tire on a cone lip and sliding out to the left, he got his leg caught on the passenger floorboard. This made him have to leap and then run across the parking lot.Unfortunately I was not ready with the camera at the time.
After Tom and Evert went down I talked to Tom Yuchniuk. I asked if he didn't want to make the blog. He smiled and pointed out that he had actually put heater tubing over his crash bar so as not to cause damage when the bike went down. Luckily for me...he went out on the next run and joined the ground bound racing team. Then out of nowhere a lawyer showed up. Must have been an ambulance chaser.
The only person attempting the cross that did not fall was Mike Henry, but I told him I would give him a blog shot anyway. Plus we decided it would help the others feel better about themselves if he agreed to have his bike upside down. He agreed...so...for the well being of the group...here is Mike's bike upside down.
klay
