Chris, Tom Y. and I got together for some learning. I was
on Old Red and Chris was on the Clone.
New stuff we learned
1# practice on holding
the throttle steady through out the whole section.
2# a bit more speed (1/2 mph) helps in the dip of the turn also on the exit
through the cones.
3# fine tune the clutch and if done well you don't change it from the entrance to the exit of
the turn.
4# done right you could decrease power (pull in clutch) to stand the bike
up through the cones (exit gateway)
5# DON'T sit back on the seat, instead move forward with your shoulders and
lean slightly into the turn...yes commit to the inside of the turn
with your shoulders.
The range drew blood today (knee) not saying who. Two of the three bikes
present went down (so we can all clam to be the lucky one.)
Remember this is a timed event as well as a skill event, so being perfect
and slow still makes you a loser.
That is why I tried to increase the speed and
see what happened. Speed helped but not wild speed, you have to hit your turning
points or your screwed.
getting stronger every day
