Throttle Happy

Posted NEW LONDON MC  Friday, August 27, 2010
After the meeting (short one) last night the usual suspects headed for Dunkin to drink Caffine, devour uneeded late night foods and generally have a bull session.

Leaving there three (3) of us headed up 32 across 2A to 12 and south to 214. I like 214, its a little short but it has good curves and elevation changes. We cranked up the throttles and cruised. There is nothing in the world like leaning into a corner on a hill at speed sweeping through it then dropping the bike over for the next corner. Unfortuatly 214 doesn't last long, so at rte 2 we took a back road along the Ledyard town dump and cranked through there. On that road there is a section of less than perfect pavement, and cresting one of the hills there is a bump, hit the shifter to drop a gear, and hit the bump, the bike launchs in the air, the gear change drops, the tires come down, a small chirp, you leave behind a slight smell of rubber for the person following, crank the throttle, bank over into the next turn. Life is good
