Middlesex ride

Posted Sept 2,2010

Fourteen members arrived at the Parthenon in Old Saybrook to go elsewhere for dinner. Two of the members went inside to get drinks, dew rags, leather vests, biker boots, saddle up to the counter, sit down and place an order, one hot chocolate with whipped cream, one cold chocolate milk. The waitress gave them a weird look and said," That was unexpected, I never would have thought that."

We like to keep people guessing.

The crew hopped on the sleds and headed to Clinton, ("My bike doesn't burn oil") making a stop at a car show (" Nice oil plume out of the left pipe when you start out" - "MY BIKE BURNS OIL?!"), before heading into downtown for dinner at Grand Apizza, or Apizza Grand, somthing Italian, I can't remember. ("If I drain the oil out of the bike it won't burn oil, right?") The weather out side was humid, the temperature inside was warm but not uncomfortable, the bathrooms had AC.

Wine, beer, iced tea, bread, pizza, pasta, and salads were devoured as the group talked the early evening away. At about 8:30/8:45 the plan was to head for ice cream and there was a choice of two places. Four bikes headed straight back towards New London, while the others headed out only to find that both Ice cream locations were closed.

One of the members may be looking at breaking down the rear cylinder of his S&S top end.

(I have a shed full of shovels, and none of those need oil)
