Why Bust My Wallet, or WBMW fiasco

We were invited to participate, support, and promote a fiasco, Remember? Back towards the end of summer 2008 106.5 WBMW asked us to rally together for the Truck, Car, and Bike show at the Crystal Mall. So they put us on the air to advertise the event. Funny thing was when the show actually went on WBMW wasn't there, their sister station was...sort of. It was a Joke of a promotional event. The weather was crappy, and the money non-existant, the bike turn-out was poor and when the promoter saw that not every member of the club was going to enter their bike in the bike contest, his interest wained. (illusions of dollars signs floating in the air). But we did all we could do and we did it right, from radio work to displays. The highlight of the day had to be seeing the girl from Colchester win the trophy for best Custom and ride out of the lot on the winning bike with the four foot trophy strapped to her back.
