Breakfast at Sub Vets in Groton

The practice team was out prac-tizing in the AM on Sunday the 22nd of November, til just before 10am when they joined the gathering masses at Dunkin Donuts in Montville. The plan...10am A.O.B. a short run to Groton and the Sub Vets on School street for a Ahn Run support breakfast. Well even the best laid plans can go awry. The Club showed up in force and sent the kitchen staff into vapor lock. We arrived there about 1030am and orderd breakfast. The Vets ran out of supplies three times. As the last table in the group to place our order, most of the Club was waiting outside for us to finish. It was a tad bit of a wait considering we got our food at 1220pm. My bacon looked strangely like sausage patties, yup bacon went south looong before our meals arrived. It turns out that the Vets were expecting around 50 people, the actual count was closer to 300. 

   If we do this next year, I suggest we drive by, throw the money at them as a donation, and ride to Oxford Mass. and I am sure we could have riden there, ordered,eaten and been done sooner. This would still leave a good ride home awaiting us.
