Happy Birthday Charlie!!!

The Club held an abridged version of the normal business meeting on Thursday the 13Th, just covering the subjects that had to be discussed. The reason for the shortened meeting was to celebrate Charlie's Birthday, and a large number turned out to do so, proving that this is more than a club, this is a Family. For food the chefs served up hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, and salads. A large Birthday cake for Charlie served as dessert. For his birthday Charlie received a small bouquet of flowers, a large Club banner signed by the membership and a recliner. It has been left to Charlie to decide whether he would prefer the recliner be left at the club for his use or to have it delivered to his home. I have to say I was extremely happy he could make the party, it was great to see him!!

As for the topics covered in the shortened meeting, I will cover the weekend activities first. The "Road Captain" proposed three rides to the membership for Sunday. it was left to the membership to decide:

1). A local ride around area roads and .... lunch

2). A ride through the western end of Connecticut and the Litchfield hills then...lunch

3). A ride to Putney Vermont for...Lunch

(Do you notice a pattern here? This club is like a rabbit with a carrot dangled in front of it's nose. No distance too far, No roads too rough, No weather too crappy as long as there's food at the end. )The club voted on the three options and Vermont won. 9am A.O.B. (Ass on Bike) DD rte 32

Saturday ride, The Club will be getting together to hunt the Mighty Moose, I mean pig, Yes eat pig with Mooses, YES... A Pig roast at the Moose Lodge. Pig the other white meat.

The final item brought up during the meeting was a letter received from the Covenant Shelter thanking us for our donations and continuous support.

I enter the following for those of you who did attend the meeting and felt they missed something due to the abridged version. So if you need consistency, and a solid foundation to keep your week together, here is what the meeting omitted.
