RECAP of the evening of the 12th

Linda made Lasagna for the meal it and was well received, Jim had trouble moving afterward (probably had something to do with the fact that Linda gave him a huge serving). Ted had a fire going although only a few of us pyros went out to enjoy it. The meeting started on time with a reduced E-board in attendance. The Presidents report consisted of a couple items, one being that the Club is looking into participating in the benefit drive for the homeless Vets center in New London, so Paul Neves attended that meeting and therefore could not be there for ours. There was no VP, 2VP or Honor Guard Captain at the meeting so Jim handled those items also. He reported that Dan Dunn had talked to Curt Anderson about the Motorcycle simulators planned for the Club night. The State wants the undivided attention of the Club while they were here. The Club decided that since there were only two machines it would be foolish to have everyone standing around waiting to use them. So the simulators will be replaced with Chili. That way the evening can continue and no one will have to stand around waiting. It was brought up after the meeting that since the machines pretty much give you scenarios where you are riding along and vehicles merge, doors open, pedestrians, etc. (obstacle evasion), that we could all just get on our bikes and as we are riding along Tom can through things at us...big wheels,...bicycles,....2x4s, and such. Patty reminded everyone of the Valentines day party at the Moose this weekend for those interested.

The Bike Blessing: There was a suggestion made and discussed about having Cd's made for giveaways at the Bike Blessing, It was suggested to have Cd's made with 10 songs on them and a motorcycle club ad placed at the end. But while the price of doing so was very inexpensive the problem with receiving permission to distribute copyrighted material and the fee to do so would make this proposal undo able. So it was decided to go with the original idea of the small flashlights, Bubha said he would pursue the matter through a distributor he deals with. The talk turned to the Blessing Tee shirts and the price of the vendor slots. It was also brought up that with the blessing date closing fast the Tee Shirts design has to be put together.

There were no guests or new memberships and the meeting ended early.

After the meeting the Club moved to their second meeting site on rte 32 in Uncasville and the talk turned to local events.
