We had a number of good responses, but no one could quite get it...
As for the Guy on the bike we received the following answers...
Steve Murphy
John Drew
John Drew
Steve Natale
Young Mark Beebe or his brother Bruce
We even received this one:
Rick Hazlett
Have no idea about the engine. Good lookin bike and guy though.
The correct answer was : Rick Hazlett
================================
The problem question was "what engine",
And this is where the trick in the question comes in...
for answers we received the following:
pan head
SS engine
Shovel head
Dave Adams answered:
Due to the fact that I'm good a looking at blurry images - or in other words "looking through beer goggles", I would say that that is a shovel top end upon a pan lower end! Pay me my money!
Well... this is what Mr Hazlett is sitting on...
So while quite a few members had the "Dude" correct only one had the engine spot on...unfortunatly he couldn't nail it.
And Mister Adams...Mister Hazlett wants a word with you.
So no one won the $50.00 Gift Certificate and thats too bad...but there is a good side to this...I didn't have to give away $50.00.

He completed building the Bike in 1984, The Photo was taken in 1988-89. It was built on a 1940-ish wishbone frame and had a Jamer Springer front end. (This set-up did try to kill him a few times)
The engine was a 196? Shovel top, and a 1957 Pan bottom. (We would have accepted a "Generator" answer as it is about impossible to tell the difference.)
