Harley-Davidson Recalls 2014 Motorcycles
MILWAUKEE, WI — Harley-Davidson announced Wednesday that it is voluntarily recalling some 2014 Touring motorcycles to quickly address some potential safety issues.
According to FOX 6 News, the recall includes a "Do Not Ride" notice to owners and a "Do Not Deliver" notices to dealers until the problem is fixed.
The recall affects 25,185 Touring motorcycles, models FLHTCU, FLHTK, FLHTP, FLHX, FLHXS, FLHTKSE and FLHRSE, and 3,861 Softail CVOs and Trikes, models FLHTCUTG, FXSBSE and FLSTNSE. All of the affected models were build between May 3, 2013 and October 14, 2013.
The hydraulic clutch system on the affected motorcycles may lose the ability to generate enough lift to disengage the clutch, causing the rider to have trouble slowing or stopping.
Owners of the affected motorcycles should contact a Harley-Davidson dealer immediately.
