Rick Hazlett's Memorial Ride

I want to thank everyone who attended the Memorial Service for Rick Hazlett Saturday. There were 55 bikes in the parking lot and probably 55-65 members, with roughly 25 Rick's family members and friends. A large turnout.

At 11:00 am the service began with some words from the Club Chaplin, then others spoke and the Road Captain read the letter he wrote to Rick just before he past away. We placed Rick's nameplate on the Club's Memorial head stone, and place a portion of his ashes in a tube, in the ground joining other past members.

After the service everyone mounted up and we departed. It was a long procession, for about 20 miles, as we also had 6-8 cars. I had the honor of carrying Rick's remains on my bike for Rick's last ride to an area he requested of me before he died. We laid Rick's ashes to rest and later returned to the Clubhouse for food and socializing.

Again, thanks for all your support. I am sure it made the family feel good that Rick had so many friends.

Jim M.
