Sunday November 14th,

Posted Sunday November 14th, 2010

I hope everyone's day was as good as mine,

mine started by sleeping through my alarm clock, rushing around to get things done, then stepping outside to find the bike covered in frost, (not a good move leaving it outside last night). Cleaned off the windshield and grips, scraped off the seat making sure to try to get all the ice out of the grooves and the perforated breathable seat, because as it would thaw the only place for the moisture to go was my butt.

Started the bike, checked the oil, headed down the road for breakfast. I-95 was a tad chilly, the cold concentrated on my ears, arrived at Norms Diner to find Mr. Miner and Ms Schwarz waiting outside,Tree arrived shortly afterwards and joined us for breakfast. With breakfast finished Tree headed off to Camp for Road Guard practice as we headed off for a ride, 95 south to Cross-roads, down along the coast, over the Connecticut River, through Old Saybrook, Essex, and Deep river before reversing direction back to rte 9 and 95 to 395, 163 and 32 to Dunkin to meet the rest of the Sunday Mystery ride riders. Roughly 66 miles on the bikes before the ride began was a great way to start the day.

We met the Natale Riders for the Sunday cruise, at approx. 11am we headed down 32 to 163 and Camp Oakdale to pick up the Road Guard Captain and his contingent. With the guards placed where they should be, the club moved back onto 163 then 82 through Salem Four Corners to East Haddam. After crossing the Ct. river we picked up another club member before turning right onto 154. We followed 154 into the Higganum area where Steve took us off the main roads and lead us on a fantastic ride through Back roads with plenty of elevation changes and corners, farm lands, forests, and even past a winery. Haddam, Durham and North Guilford. The route twisted left and right with a trip through Fanghorn Forest before depositing us on rte 80 where the club turned left and proceeded through North Madison, Chatfield Hollow, Killingworth and Winthrop, and arrived at Chester to eat. The weather was fantastic and we took over the patio area at the Pattaconk on Main street. After lunch the group began to breakup with our group, lead by the Captain of the Guard and El Presidente' , running back across the Connecticut and 82 to Salem 4 corners where the final breakup occurred. Then it was 85 to 95 and home for Mister Miner and myself.

Kudos to Mister Natale on a Fantastic ride, great roads, and great food. Kudos to Tom and his Guards, the Guards did an excellent job and looked great doing it. (And they had plenty of chances to do it).

So...

With that ride done...
Where we going next week Steve?
