Thursday night recap

Nine riders met at DD on 32 for the Mystery ride,  The Sergeant at Arms gave a short safety briefing warning of sand and water along the route. We headed out just before 5pm and took Raymond hill up to 163, crossed 82 and continued on 163 into the City of Bozrah. Tom Y. hooked a left and took us along rte 608 (Norwich-Colchester Highway) to Gillman then a left on Scott Hill road. A right turn on Lake road,  then another right at Gardner Lake onto Cottage road then a right on Doyle and back onto rte 82. A left onto Old Colchester, across the new bridge over Oxoboxo lake, then to the club. The ride was about an hour long.

At the Club we partook in Dinner, with roasted pork in gravy, potatoes, green beans, meatballs, garlic bread, salad and wine, and/or coffee.

The meeting was fairly short, a word about the up coming events, a discussion about the two old stoves, the ongoing raffles, and this weekends ride to the Penguin Plunge. The Sergeant At Arms discussed the evening Mystery ride, stating how he warned everyone of the dangers of water and sand on the roads, then went on to say that at the intersection of Raymond Hill and 163 one of the riders put his foot down for the stop, found sand under his left foot and the bike fell over in slow motion, and how he believes it must have been a newer rider. The Sergeant then went on to thank everyone for "helping in picking up my bike". After the meeting the normal group (if you can call them normal) went to DD while sandwich and myself went to the Equinox in Mystic.
