Not a damn thing, if...you don't want to work. The benefits have become so strong that people get money for doing nothing. Not just the bare essentials either, need a phone, you can get one, free of charge. Need surgery drift to a State that covers what you need. Want to have kids, you are better off unemployed.
These aren't ramblings, these are facts...let me give you some examples.
EBT stamps allow you to buy pretty much anything edible, My opinion, no junk food. Food stamps should only be available for healthy foods. You want to eat junk...pay for it.
I have a relative that has a government supplied phone, all you need to do is work the angles and believe me they know how. From fuel oil assistance and electrical services supplied by the State. A guy with no job has a free phone and free limited service. He received a free Smart phone by filling out the appropriate paperwork and just uses free wi-fi supplied by just about every gas station out there.
I have a friend who has a daughter who had a child, at the time neither her or her boy friend were working and they received full support from the State. He has since started working so their benefit was reduced to $40.00 and both are struggling to make ends meet. For the person willing to sit on his or her ass....full benefits, so why bother working.
Surgery, My relative connected with a girl from the Great State of Florida, Florida does not waste it's money giving away medical care to the un-insured and un inspired, so she came up here, moved in with him, went to the doctors and the State of Connecticut paid for all her surgery.. and there was a batch that needed to be done. Surgery over...she moved out to points unknown.
You know who paid for all this don't you...you.
How do I know there are too many benefits out there? Easy...I ran a couple ads for employment. The first drew in no one...the second brought in two...
If the job market is so bad why aren't people looking for jobs...I can tell you why...Why should they.
