NOTHING STOPS US!

Our 2009 First Responders Run started with a bang. A tree snapped and took out our club's power line. Undaunted, club members were determined to serve our guest riders the breakfast they were promised. Here Steve Natalie, with the help of club members, CL&P workers and an independent electrical contractor work to get up a new power line. Note the look of concern on chef Bob's face. His first breakfasts had to be on the plate in less than two hours.

Guess What?

Breakfast was served on time.

This kind of effort is what makes the NLMC the great club that it is.

First Responders Poker Run

The Club sponsored its annual First Responders Poker Run on March 5th 2009. While the Club was willing to jump in and go for it, nature had other ideas. It was a rain soaked overcast day which kept the turnout to a minimum, so much so in fact it will probably be the last one the Club holds. Following are pictures of the day. The morning started in a bad way though when a tree fell on the Clubs property taking down the power to the building. With the power out cooking was impossible but the club rallied and with some outside aid the ride went on and on time, but that story I’ll leave to Ron in the next installment.
