Getting Into High Gear

The NLMC is on the move!

Monday evening, April 13th, we had a position holders meeting at our club house. Chef Bob served up hot dogs and beans. Our bike blessing was discussed and position holders found out their duties, as well as the assigned parking areas for our guests. This year, Bike Clubs that attend will be offered their own area to park in. By showing them this respect, we hope to have them support future bike blessings.

Tuesday, April 14th, 14 members and one prospect gathered at Martello's Restaurant in Canterbury for the monthly dinner meeting. At this meeting Bubba and Ron were presented with their Road Sargent Bars. Boomer requested lists of destinations for the upcoming season (both long and short rides). This year, members of the New London Motor Cycle Club will have more choices of ride days, destinations (long and short runs) and great times out. It's a heck of a good year to be a member of this club.
Following the meeting, we took a ride to Hank's in Plainville for soft serve ice cream. Needless to say, it was a fun night out with a lot of laughs and great food surrounding our five minute meeting.

Our April 16th meeting at the clubhouse will cover our Bike Blessing, this coming Sunday at Ocean Beach Park. All are welcome to attend. Volunteers are requested to attend.

The weather forecast for this coming Sunday is very good; partly cloudy with temps in the 60's. This is much better weather than we had for the last two years. It is fortunate that this years bike blessing was postponed a week due to an early Easter this year. Last Sunday would have been a cold, windy day to have the blessing. Alas, sometime, things work out to our advantage.

Old Gray Beard is excited about this coming weekend! He hopes to see you at the beach!

Keep The Rubber Side Down,

Gray Beard
The Bike Blessing

===============================================
April 2009, the Club held the Bike Blessing at Ocean Beach Park in New London Ct. The day started cool with a promise of rain, but warmed up nice and the rain never came, over 700 bikes arrived to be blessed and check out the vendors.

Before the day started a few of the club met at Norm's Diner in Groton for breakfast. You could say it was a tad damp and cool

Leaving Norms the Club rode to Ocean Beach in New London Ct. wher other members had already begun the setup.

Before things became too hectic the Members had  a pre-event meeting.

With the formalities out of the way the club continues to set up...

Then the waiting begins... why is it everyone always forgets about the waiting...

The bikes begin rolling in...

Then the reason everyone came...The Blessing
