Massatucky has some excellent roads for riding ranging from the Atlantic Ocean, with Cape Ann and Cape Cod, through Charlton Hill, Framingham,Worcester, and Leominster and out through the Hills of the Berkshires through Dalton, Hinsdale, and Washington, plus up north around Rowe, Florida and Adams then west to New York State. The other thing that caused me to fall in love with the state were the trains, yes, Railroads, Conrail on the old B&A, Guilford on the B&M, The Central Vermont, Pionoeer Valley, Providence and Worcester, Housatonic, Grafton and Upton, and Berkshire Scenic. Then Conrail went away, Central Vermont went away, G&U all but went away, and CSX arrived. Super modern power in boring drab paint. The other draw back was helmets, Helmet laws suck.
Now my favorite state in Pennsylvannia. more Railroads, Railroad museums and Railroad history than you can imagine, mountains and valleys and rivers and gorges to ride through. But once again...
Now the absolute best state is New Hampshire...No helmet laws, Lot's of mountains, valleys, rivers, and woods...But railroading pretty much left that state years ago. No more Mountain Sub, No more tracks through Whitefield or Berlin Mills, The area around St. Johnsbury is grass covered. But the motorcycle riding is fantastic.
And no Helmets.
