Some new laws out there

In California local governments are now prohibited from conducting motorcycle-only checkpoints.

In Florida it is now not illegal to flash headlights at oncoming traffic to warn about police.

Florida law revised the term "motor vehicle" to exclude swamp buggies, deregulating the primary mode of transportation in that state.

Residents of Wellington, Kansas are now limited to no more than four cats per household. The hope is that restricting ownership will lower the town's burgeoning cat population.

In Illinois the handlebars on a motorcycle have to below the height of the riders head.

Sex offenders in Illinois are banned from distributing candy on Halloween or playing Santa or the Easter Bunny.

The Oregon Legislature back in 2009 that will eventually lead to all motorcycle riders being required to take a training course. If you already have a motorcycle endorsement on your license, fret not, you’re safe. You don’t have to take a refresher course, even though it is encouraged. All new riders under 51 years of age are required to take the State approved Team Oregon Rider Education course. In 2014 the age will move to all riders under 61 years of age.
