What was that you said? Dauntless Rider?
Yes...The Dauntless Rider...the one person in the Club who had what maybe referred to as "not" the greatest year award. It was awarded to the one person that had the best mishap perhaps a crashed bike, perhaps crashed bones. The point is though the person was dauntless and was back on the bike and riding.
In 2010, I believe it was, we tracked it down, it had not been seen in quite a while. It was found in the front of the trailer shed, covered with...all sorts of nasty stuff, like it was the base for whatever wanted to grow in that dark damp place. We dragged it out, cleaned it up and awarded it Mister Gerald Miner who not only put his bike down but took out his clavicle at the same time. When the end of the year rolled around it was awarded to some one else, Off hand I can't say who it was and I am sure that person still has it, It's actually not something you want, it is rather , how shall I say it...ugly, a bent rim lamp.
Anyway...no matter where it is, on November 3, of 2001 it was being awarded at the banquet...my question is....Which person was receiving it?
As a matter of fact it doesn't actually look like that any more...it looks...worse...tall ugly lamp attached if memory serves.
