Remember when that group went to Niagra?

Well...I just tripped over the photos on the work computer and realized they were never posted.
I believe they got caught in a shower on the way up.

Nice sight seeing pictures...
but did you see any patches?

Annual Founder's Day Ride

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

AOB Departure: 10:00am Dunkin Donut's Rte 32 Uncasville

AOB Pick Up: 10:30am I 91 exit 33 Jennings Road ramp

This is a membership must do ride.

New Haven County members contact your Chairperson

We will be riding 91 north into Massachussetts so bring a
helmet. This is a traditional ride to the gravesite of Ralph
and Ruth Strong, to pay respect to our founding Father and
Mother of the New London Motorcycle Club established 1939.

Each year we have a nice ride to the gravesite, say a few words,
a pray from our Chaplain and then departure. We have lunch
in town, fuel up and head back to Connecticut. Weather looks
good but cool, dress accordingly. It's a comfortable pace we
have time.

In 1946 the Strong's purchased the 1 1/2 acre site that we now
call home and built the first Clubhouse on it which later burned
to the ground. The old foundation in the back of the property is
still in tack.

We have invited members of the Rider's of Fire, The
Freedom Riders, Riders from Mike's Famous and New England
Cycle Works to leave a large footprint and enjoy the day.

This is an important ride for NLMC so a reminder will be sent

Tired of plinky away, then waiting to see if you hit the target..

Sure you can get metal targets and wait for the tink sound, or you can shoot bottles (a bit messy) or you can get exploding targets.

That's right, instant gratification. Exploding targets, there is nothing better than watching things blow up!!!

But...don't get your hopes up, you have to use a large calibre round for them to work, 380, 35, 22,  9mm, just won't do it.(according to the manufacturer).

But set one on the hill, whip out that elephant gun you carry and KaBoom.

The best part, they come in sizes...

http://theexplodingtargets.com/products.htm

And just look at those sizes:
1/2 lb
1lb
2lb
2 1/2 lb
8lb
16lb
and the best yet....50lb

Ooooh Yeah sit back and put a round into a 50lb barrel target and watch it go away. Plus...a 50lb barrel

How can you miss?

Took P.C.O. for a ride

P.C.O. and myself met this afternoon at the Dunkin on 32 in Montville, Th  idea was a ride, Nowhere to go and all day to get there.

First stop was the outpost, Needed some 9, PCO picked up some for him and Ginny, I just needed to re-stock and while I was there I looked at a couple hand guns. I have the Smith and Wesson BodyGuard and other than it's compact size I find it a piece of crap so I need a replacement. I was looking at 9's but didn't get one. All rather larger than I actually want.

Leaving the OutPost we stopped for fuel, PCO said he didn't care where we went as long as it wasn't down dirt roads. I think he was having flash backs to last year and the ride down Hells Hollow road. I assured him we would stay on blacktop. We crossed the Mohegan-Pequot bridge and took 12 south to 214. I should mention something about 214. For those of you who know this road, you know it is an excellent cruise, not long but fun. We turned onto the road and ran into road work at the school, from there to almost Whalehead rd there is no pavement...literally...a dirt road. PCO made it a point to mention that the first road I took him on was a dirt road.

We cruised across 214 then ran down along Lantern Hill and Long Ponds, then a left turn on Wolf neck to 201. We headed into North Stonington cruised up past the Vineyard, down through Hangman and Gristmill. At 49 we headed north. Route 49 is new pavement. smooooth as a baby's behind, with out nastys. Wyassup to 2 and then headed back toward Norwich.

The weather was again great, but...it could have been snowing and I would have been alright with it, after all...A day off from work is a day off from work.

If Dan is Hoss, what does that say about the E-Board

I have to say, Adam...er..I mean Paul looks good.

We need open carry in Connecticut

A tad bit of information on the White Horse decor'

The table we did not sit at, the one we sat next to that had cross bars beneath it so the chairs could not be pushed in, (which was a pain in the butt to get past), is Over 400 years old and came from a Royal Castle in England. Had we sat at that table in the same positions we took at ours, Judy would have been at the head of the Table, would that make her Queen? If so, it would make one wonder about the person on the other end, King?  If so Jim might want to keep his eye on PCO.

If you visit the website and I suggest that those who went do so, there is a lot of History located there, Check out this link.

http://www.whitehorsecountrypub.com/info/interestingitems/

The other site you might want to check out is their photo albums, It would appear the owners enjoy the company of their laborers, Party's, Barbecues, Bowling, SKY DIVING...

What can I say about Sunday's ride?

We left Dunkin and went left then straight and right and left and a few more straights and rights and lefts and we met Natale...over....there. Then he took us up and down and we made a couple turns, went up a few hills and down a few hills then we stopped for gas. Then he turned right and we ended up in Marbledale for Lunch, around 1pm.

http://www.whitehorsecountrypub.com/location

The ride was great, lots of twists and turns and quite a bit of single file cruising to enjoy the roads. The weather could not have been better, warm with no humidity, T-shirt weather, the air was soft with the smell of early fall in it, fallen leaves and meadows gone by. The kind of day that reminds you of childhood.

The food at the restaurant was fantastic and we have put it on the must do again sometime list.

Yes that is a Rolling Stones Guitar, signed by the band

How many places do you know where the person to your right is eating a burger, the one across from you is having a french Dip Au jus, to your left the person is tearing into a crock of mussells while you have breakfast?

Now to have a place called the White Horse Country Pub there are three things you have to have.

1: A picture of a White Horse on the sign outside:

And they do...

2: A picture of a White Horse inside on the wall.

Yup, they have one of those also.

But the most important item, one that no Pub should be without, I mean how can you call yourself a Pub, and The White Horse Pub at that, unless you have the most important item of all...

That's right...A 1920 Red Indian Motorcycle behind the bar.

Ride Reminder

The A.O.B. for the Montville meet tomorrow is 9:45 NOT 10am

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A RELAXED WORK SCHEDULE

I ride to work, arriving at 7:30am, we open at 8am. The schedule on Saturdays used to be 8am to 4pm, but if service ran out of work, and they did, every Saturday, around 1pm, we sat around the rest of the day staring at the walls and the shop would be emplty and the lights off.

So I changed the closing time for parts to 2pm on Saturdays.

Today..Service went home at noon.

Here I sit waiting for 2.

klay

(And the Service manager wants to open on Sundays, that makes a lot of sense. I pay people to sit around now for nothing, he wants to add another day to that?)

Bub and Karen

E-mailed Sept. 10th.

Bub and I represented a fallen soldier today, in Dundee, New York.  Bub had his motorcycle and colors with him and went to the Elmira Airport to escort Chris Scott home.  I was waiting in Dundee with my family for young Chris to come home.  Very sad day for this little community, so close to our home towns.  The first fatality for this area.  Chris was a school mate with my nephews, so the family was close.  The Patriot Guard here in New York, are a great bunch of people. Tim Yetter from Penn Yan was a spoke person at the airport.  My sister was even on Channel 13 news during the Scotts parade, just before Chris came home.  Such a young man, just 21, and was to be wed in 2 weeks.

Sorry about the delay Karen, this went to my Gmail account. I usually post under Ron's account because he started the blog and that account has all the editing features.

The Annual Banquet is only 7 weeks away

The Treasurer will be selling tickets in the near future.
The tickets this year will cost $ 50.00 per person. We have to pay for a minmum of 50 people.
Again the Banquet is 7 weeks away so if you are on a budget start putting $ 10.00 per week in the jar per person, which will pay for your ticket and leave enough for cocktails.
I know that there were complaints about the cost last year, but it was the best deal for what we wanted. I understand that some of our members do not have the means like others more fortunate. The bottom line is the cost is the cost and the Club cannot afford to subsdize your ticket. The free Pig Roast in July was the extent of our disposable Club income this year, and 70% was funded by the gun raffle that Bubba hosted. Everyone in the Club pays the same for their membership but don't get the same benefit.
If you can't afford to go I understand, but please try to look at it as it is offered to everyone in the Club, and it is you making the choice not to go.
The initial reason for the Banquet established long before I became a member, has lost some of it's purpose over the years. If I am still President next year, I will entertain changing the bylaws for 2012 lifting the mandate to have the Banquet. Personally, I would like to see our addition finished and the existing meeting room overhauled and just have a party at the Clubhouse.

Steak!!!!

The Riders of Fire Steak night was tonight and the Riders put on a great feed as usual.Included in the invite was us and the Freedom Riders.

The Club met at Dunkin for a 5:30 A.O.B. (Ass on Bike) but due to the weather most members caged it. From there we ran up 32 to 2A and across the river to the Poquetonuck Firehouse. The Riders had invited us and the Freedom Riders for a Social evening.

The food was outstanding  and plenty of it, The Riders cooked the steak on the grille (covered BBQ pit) and it was excellent and if a giant slab of Dead Cow carcass grilled on an open pit isn't enough for you fear not because there was baked beans, corn on the cob, baked potato's, salad and bread to go with it, plus apple sauce and muffins.

Everyone enjoyed themselves getting together with old friends and meeting new ones. It turns out one of the Riders used to hang out with the same guys I came up through the Fire Service with, so we shared a couple stories. The Riders also held a 50/50 with the profits going to the New London Homeless Vets and the winner of the raffle gave the pot back to the Riders to add to the other half.

Now a little about the weather, at the meeting is was said no one would be on bikes because of the rain. No one on bikes? in my opinion that was a no no, we're a motorcycle club, so I put on my leathers called Danny and busted his chops about taking a car. It rained on the way to Dunkin and I found my old chaps are no longer waterproof, knees down...soaked. But the rain pretty much stopped before the ride to the FD. Danny arrived on Bike. Evert said he was millimeters from riding but saw the report for later and took his car. He told us we were going to get slammed on the way home. After the meal and coffee and socializing we started heading out, I had to make it a point to tell Evert that it wasn't raining. Hey, rule 5062, never let an occasion to rub something in go by, you never know when the chance will come again.

I cruised down 117 and as I arrived in Ledyard the rain started coming down. Now this would not have been bad if I were cruising along but I was behind traffic in Ledyard Center and nobody speeds through Ledyard. After jumping on Col.Ledyard highway I lost the traffic, picked up speed and the rest of the ride was a joy, although I did have to wring my beard out a couple times.

There is one more point about the ride home, you all know that dusk and early evening darkness brings out the wild life so I was on my guard to watch for it, and there was a lot around, but not the fluffy fuzzy kind, the entire ride down 117 and Col. Ledyard I was dipping the bike back and forth to avoid them...Frogs.

They were everywhere.

Have you ever wondered how much grip you can maintain in a corner when you are leaning it over and there are frogs between the tread and the road.  That thought wrangled through my mellon for most of the ride, luckily, I didn't get the chance to find out.

Rain Riding tip #2

First a little explanation: (for those who do not go out in it)

Rain is liquid precipitation, Rain requires the presence of a thick layer of the atmosphere to have temperatures above the melting point of water near and above the Earth's surface. On Earth, it is the condensation of atmospheric water vapor into drops of water heavy enough to fall, often making it to the surface. Two processes, possibly acting together, can lead to air becoming saturated leading to rainfall: cooling the air or adding water vapor to the air. Virga is precipitation that begins falling to the earth but evaporates before reaching the surface; it is one of the ways air can become saturated. Precipitation forms via collision with other rain drops or ice crystals within a cloud. Rain drops range in size from oblate, pancake-like shapes for larger drops, to small spheres for smaller drops. Yes it that wet stuff that falls from the sky.

Riding in the rain requires protective clothing, the amount and type are determined depending on the amount of rain. A light rain requires very little, gloves are handy, (cut off or full) because they aid in grip of the throttle and protect the hands from chapping or blistering on long rides (friction).

Except for a light drizzle you will most likely want to cover bare skin areas. Even rain falling gently hurts when you are pushing 65mph or greater on a highway. Leather is a good protection from light to moderate rain. You can stay pretty dry on a bike with a fairing but sooner or later you will slow or stop and you will get drenched. In cooler weather you want to stay dry to maintain body temperature, the mix of rain and cold or cool wind can zap your body of heat.  In Heavy rain a full set of rain gear is desired, dumb looking, but functional.

A point to remember, leather coats, gloves, chaps and boots are dyed. When ever you buy new leather goods it is a good idea to wash them thoroughly to remove excess dye. The dye that turns the leather (cow skin) black does the same to human skin and unless you want to walk around for a week explaining to people why you have black hands it is a good practice to get the excess dye out right away.

Tonight

For those of you who have opted for the

Night.

The Club is meeting at 5:30pm at the Dunkin on 32 (You know the place)
From there we will be heading across route 2a into Poquetanuck.

For those coming from other places who would like to meet up and ride in together you can wait for the group at The Brookside Cafe.

Weather tonight should be like the weather today....
WET

So most people will be in their cages.

And remember everyone loves cow..
And Cow is easy to get.

Cuz Cows are stupid

I heard the way they hunt cows is they make up a Party flyer and post it on a fence post,

It sort of looks like this...

Did you hear the one about two people on a parkway and a Pothole?

911 Ride to new York City

Rain Riding tips.

If it is pouring, or you prefer to stay dry, I suggest a rain suit, Reflective panels a must, a motorcycle creates a very small signature in a downpour and being run over from behind would probably ruin your entire day. Sure the rest of us get to wear our Honor Guard gear and ride in a parade in front of the hearse, but that is short lasting.

Rain boots are a good thing to have to keep your feet dry. After a long ride in the rain your feet tend to prune.

If the rain has just started stay away from the center of the lane, rain has a tendency to allow oils to float up out of the pavement and until that washes away you will want to avoid it.

There are a number of things to watch out for in the rain, leaves are one, sand and or gravel washed into the travel lane another. Painted lines on the road will also give you a thrill. And don't think the paint is only slippery when you are turning. crossing a painted cross walk while cruising along can give your bike the rear end kick or wobbles. Water has a tendency to sit on top of the paint, can be a bit slippery.

Always watch where you put your feet, making a stop at a red light and putting your foot down on the paint will lead to your foot slipping out, the bike falling over and you doing a split. Now this may not be such a bad thing if you are female, but as a guy, a split is the last thing you want to do. In case you have not noticed, or no one ever told you, a girl can do a split, and pop back up with out an issue. Guy's usually have a pulled...muscle.

Most important, watch out for the morons in the cages, they cannot seem to see us when the sun is shining, when the visibility is restricted they see absolutely nothing. Plus most cagers believe bikers hide when it rains and they are not expecting to see you.

klay

It's funny how things change

Up until this year I have always avoided riding in the rain, I avoided it like the plague. Sure I've ridden in the rain, but it usually wasn't by choice, It would happen when I was somewhere I didn't want to be trying to get where I did want to be. But I would never wantonly head out the door in the rain. I wouldn't even take the bike out if it looked like rain.

This year has been different, Danny and I rode in the downpour at the Veterans Remembrance ride and it was a blast, I have actually never had so much fun on a poker run. Since then I have been out numerous times in the rain, and I find it enjoyable, almost relaxing. The reason may be the Glide, with the V-Star there was a windshield but that was it. Rain came over it, around it and up from the bottom. Last year the Glide had the full windshield and visibility sucked. Looking through a full windshield is miserable when it's raining. the new windshield is lower and I look over the top. I do get wetter with the shorter Windshield but visibility is a 100% better.

This morning was a case in point, I rode the bike to work, the back roads were fine the highway fantastic, the only place I got wet was from the knees down.  the fairing put the rain over your head and around you to the sides, sure if I hit a deep puddle the water shoots up my nose but that makes me laugh. The only bad part about this mornings ride was that I was going to work and the ride ended too soon.

I'm sure when colder weather arrives my tune will change, cold and wet is not usually enjoyable, but for now...I'll just keep riding.

Here's something to cheer you up

We will have more cold days, and we may yet have warm days, but the trend will lead down that mercury dropping trail to winter.

Pretty soon there will be snow and ice, and with that Rock Salt. There's nothing like coming back from a ride with a wet bike, going into a restaurant, coming out after eating and finding a dry white motorcycle.

Salt you have to love it, it pits, it corrodes, and it dis-colors. But it is good on pizza.

You know another good feeling, going outside and finding this.

You just know the ride home will take a long, long, longlonglong...long time.

But...you can spend a little money, and put a little help in your saddlebags.

cuz Chains are cool.

klay

It is all what you are used to.

Last March I waxed on lyrically about the temperature. It was 50 degrees, I was forgoing the chaps and heated gear, It was like Summer was here. But then Summer was some way off.

Well, We have had summer, and it was 50 this weekend, I wasn't praising the conditions, just 7 months ago I would have been overjoyed. Instead I put on a long sleeve shirt, leather jacket, hat (well I almost always wear a hat), and chaps. morning was down right uncomfortable. And with all the gear on I felt bulky, it was horrible. I stuck with the Chaps till lunch then shed them, it still wasn't warm but it wasn't cold either.

Isn't it funny how the same temperature can be wonderful and miserable. It's just what you get used to. But hey...just 6 more months and March will be back and 50 will be great.

Sunday with David

For a little while I thought I was in an episode of the Adams Family, "Adams Family Riders".

Dave would be leading the ride, and when I arrivedat Dunkin, I found Doug there with a snack, then Dale and  ?   arrived, Danny arrived so I was not the "only non Adams" there. Shortly afterward Kaitlin, Dave and Margo pulled in. Jim was next followed by Jason and Judy.

At 10am Dave lead us up 32 across the river on 2A, south on 12 and east on 214. he took us through Mashantucket, Preston City, Jewitt City, across Butts Bridge road to 169 and to the Dunkin at 14 and 169. There were picked up Joe F. and the Bookers. Dave took us east on 14 to Dayville then through Moosup and Sterling for lunch ar Weideles.

After lunch Dave headed for Ekonk then down through Nnorth Stonington on back roads he had found.

Danny, Myself, and the Bookers followed Joe on a fast moving, hill and curve ride into Rhode Island, 94 to 101. then into Dayville and along back roads, the Buell dipping into the corners easy while I threw the Harley around to stay behind him. Danny and the Bookers followed. We ended up coming out on 14 in Canterbury by Wrights Farm. Then down by Martellos and across to 169. Danny asked Joe if we could do it again.

We followed Joe back to Jewitt City, The Bookers headed home while we went to check out Joe's Shovelhead and I gave him back his backrest. The week before I was on my way to pick up Julie and forgot my backrest. Joe lent me his.

Sunday's ride was nice, food was good, Dave did a great job leading, as did Joe. I am not sure where Dave exactly took the ride after we broke off but from Jason's report it was a good ride.

Last night...

...was the Thursday night meeting and ride. In the late afternoon Steve called me for a weather report, I told him it was not raining and it wasn't. The weather report was for showers ending at 8pm. I left the house at 6:15 and went to the store as I came out and got on the bike it started raining, it was 6:30. Steve had the ride out of Davids on time. According to George Booker (Harley no windshield), the ride in the rain sucked...it was great. George had not been on the back roads around Hadlyme before, he just wished it was brighter and dryer. The meeting started at 8:05 and it was still raining, the meeting ended at 9:30pm, and it was still raining,(chalk up another one for the weather bureau).

My Bike seat is the StreetGlide pattern Sundowner model , it is perforated so it stays cool while you ride, it also means it is a three foot long 6 inch deep sponge. Five days after it rains it will still leak water when you sit on it. To avoid this I put my jacket over it last night before the meeting.

When the meeting ended, I put on my wet jacket, sat on my dry seat and headed home. I blew off coffee at Dunkin. The wind came in bursts, the back roads had blown leaves and branches on them. Riding on 95 the wind bursts were moving me all over the lanes. I had no chaps with me and between the temperature drop, the wet jacket, wet cut-offs and soaked jeans (Knees down) I froze my ass off on the way home. Luckily for me I was only going to Mystic.

I'm sure mister Booker had a miserable ride home.

The discomfort could have been avoided, had I worn my rain suit, I have one, It is very nice, J&P, grey and black with reflective silver stripes. I always keep it in the same place so I know where it is, sitting on a chair in the corner of my dining room.

Tomorrow will be the last 6:30pm Mystery Ride. It's getting too dark for group riding.
Starting 09/22/11 the rides will depart at 6:00pm. Someone will have to stay behind (probably me) in case people are using info from the business cards and show at 6:30pm
Meetings will continue to begin at 8:00pm until November.

Why the Japanese did not invade after Pearl Harbor

After the Japanese decimated our fleet in Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941,
They could have sent their troop ships and carriers directly to
California to
finish what they started.
The prediction from our Chief of Staff was we would not be able to stop
a massive invasion until they reached the Mississippi River.
Remember, we had a 2 million man army
and war ships....
all fighting the Germans.

So, why did they not invade?

After the war, the remaining Japanese generals and admirals were asked
that question.
Their answer....
They know that almost every home had guns and the Americans knew how to
use them.

The world's largest army... America 's hunters!
I had never thought about this....

A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and
arrived at a striking conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin ..
Allow me to restate that number.
Over the last several months, Wisconsin 's hunters became the eighth
largest army in the world.

More men under arms than in Iran ...

More than in France and Germany combined.

These men deployed to the woods of a single American state to hunt
with firearms, and no one was killed.

That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of
Pennsylvania and Michigan 's 700,000 hunters All of whom have now
returned home.

Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally
establishes the fact that the hunters of those four states alone
would comprise the largest army in the world.

The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of
home-grown
firepower.
Hunting -- it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of
national
security.

That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought when next we consider gun control.

Bring money

I went to Mikes Famous HD today and met up with ,Craig Knutson, Dave Adams, Margo and Katelin.

Lots of good food and a good band.

I won the drawing for two concert tickets to go see Willie Nelson at Foxwoods MGM Grand on October 29.

I will be donating them to the club as a raffle at one dollar a ticket at the next two meetings, with the drawing on the second week. I'll have more information before the next meeting.

There is absolutely nothing going on.

I suggest you go out and ride while you can, preferably while the sun is up, it is warm.

Tomorrow the COLD begins, jackets and chaps will soon be a must.

Everybody should run diagnostics on their heated gear.

I know mine is OK, except there is no power to the right hand.

Motorcyclist under car

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/stunning-video-bystanders-lift-burning-car-off-crashed-motorcyclist/

What can I say

OH MY GOSH!!!

Tired of it

This seems to be the year for motorcycles to need rides. There seems to be more bikes this year that have needed a flat bed or tow truck than any other year I remember. Between flat tires, fuel issues, fork seals, ignition locks, lost keys, broken belts, crashes or just rides to the shop for service. I don't know about you but I am tired of it. The Club has trailers, but find someone to tow one if you need it. Members have trailers but they are either on the ride with you on their bike or no where to be found when you need one. There is no worse feeling than being stuck somewhere without transportation and little to no money in your pocket.

So..

I bought a truck.

I figure we can always find someone who can not be on a ride but would not mind following along at the rear, and on long trips it can be used by members who would rather transport their bikes to the location for one reason or another and use their bike when they get there.

So with that in mind I purchased such a vehicle, the back area will hold three motorcycles, the vehicle will hold 4 passengers, behind the driver I put in a folding seat/bed and a stove for cooking. it has a standard transmission, cinder block cruise control, and Air Conditioning. Like a UPS tuck it has a cab sunroof and a Box sunroof. Now they can just cruise along in quiet comfort knowing that when they get where they are going they can ride their bike, and if anyone has a problem along the way the bike just goes in the back and they join the comfort club.

Subject: Re: 911 Ride

They all showed Willie, Sean and Ernie even brought his wife, we had 11 bikes and 13 people.
Bob and Mike Meadows and his friend Mark. Me, Mike Messina, his friend Roland, my friend Ron from Southington, and my friends Greg and Karen from Torrington, a good crew.
We went to the dealership and down to Ground Zero, no problem, no check points, no bombs. Once again NYC was fantastic!
You simply cant get a better feeling than going thru Times Square on a Saturday night with a couple thousand bikes and hundreds of people cheering you on,......period
Ground Zero - very solemn, standing around that sacred ground brings you right back to earth.
Again we missed the wreath laying ceremony.....we'll have to try again next year!
The clincher: Bob Meadows lost his bike key, left his bike at GZ and had to ride bitch on my bike all the way home and has to be back there before 5am or they will tow it, due to P.O.T.U.S. arriving in the AM. and no, i'm not making this up......lol

Caution:

Moxley Road is being chip sealed (tar & stone chips), best bet is to avoid this road with your bike for at least a couple of days.

2011 Midnite Run to Ground Zero.....

Due to a heightened security level, check points, long waits, bomb threats and info that WTC area was in lockdown - I got word that both of our groups had cancelled the ride as of 2pm saturday. Unwilling to accept the cancellation, I went onto my plan B and notified them that I wasnt canceling and would be leading a group of us to the HD dealership on Northern Blvd for the NYPD escorted ride, unless of course that ride was cancelled.

So we rode and it turned out to be a great ride as only a night-ride into NYC, Times Square and of course the WTC site can be!!

kinda lousy pics but here they are. I'm looking for pics of us going thru times square if anybody has some please email them to me.

11 bikes and 13 riders
