There seems to be a difference of opinion

Monday night Tom drove ol' Red into the ground, and drove it in hard. "Pavement pealing Hard". If this had been a diving competition even the Russians would have given solid Tens for the spectacle.

Unlike the other riders who step or leap off their bikes during a "Burn in", Good ol' Tom rode it down and stayed with it to the end. Sort of like a ship Captain going down with his ship.

But....

At the end of the night, it was Evert who took the hat. (?)
