Harley Davidson offers a clip on flag kit for touring models

 It is available in both American flag (94626-98) and POW/MIA (94900-03) versions.     

       The masts are made of poly and designed for parade use only. They are held on with a plastic clamp style base.

 The flag, when used at speed, (getting to the parade)  have a tendency to vibrate as the wind comes around the rider forcing the flag to travel inwards scratching the paint as it moves. 

The kit comes with clear anti scratch strips but the masts drift across the surface for a far greater distance than the strip protects. With two flags on the bike, as I run, both flags move towards each other and the center of the bike. To fix this issue I invested in a 13" section of flat black 1 1/2" wide automobile body side moulding.

By placing this strip across the area between the two mounts the flags can no longer change position and it covered the area previously scratched by the flags.
