Let's start with the ride, (This ride was almost all single file). Steve Natale led us up Grassy Hill rd to Old Grassy Hill rd, to Grassy Hill rd (We did not go in circles, look at the map) then Beaver Brook, crossed over 156 to Macintocsh, Mt.Archer,Brush Hill, then Left on Ferry, left on River and Joshuatown and back to 156. Then 156 to 82 to...
At this point the Club did something it has never done before on a Thursday night, It was a first!!! Because last nights riders were so Damn good!!! Steve pretty much ran out of planned roads before it was time to end the ride!! The riders (I believe there were 14 or so bikes, with two of the bikes running two up) handled the route like pros. The pace was constant but not fast, everyone spaced themselves evenly, NO ONE slowed up the ride, the column was like a piece of well oiled finely detailed machinery, 14 moved as one. And kudos to the Road Guards who performed fantastically. The group moved so well that Steve found himself on route 82 and 156 at 7:10pm. With the ride suppose to end at 7:30 or 7:45 and 20 to 35 minutes left...Steve took us to Salem for ICE CREAM. I do have to say the suggestion actually came over the radio, a voice crackled across as we headed up 156, "Hey Dad, Are we gonna have Ice Cream". Steve agreed, when the voice came back and said it was only kidding, Steve relied, O-K, But it's a Good Idea".
The meeting went fairly smooth, There was no President in attendance, The Secretary was in New York City, The 2nd VP was...who knows, and the Road Guard Captain was absent. So the VP kicked off the meeting, No Presidents report, roll call by hands, and no minutes. The Treasurer gave his report, The Honor Guard Captain mentioned the two parades. The Road Captain told of this Sundays Ride. There was a discussion about the pig roast/Rodeo (Times and supplies), and some open discussions in Good of the Club.
The Thimble Island Boat trip and Elis is set.
The meeting had 8 guests, 4 sport bikes included.
