The Last vestiges of winter were removed yesterday when a small group of members got together for a party. Most were there early and suffered the rain but that would clear up and leave a gray damp day. I arrived around noon or so with a "box of Joe" only to find that it really wasn't a party...there was no music, no ice cream and no cake, but there were a lot of nuts, bolts and screws.
The shed that was lost to the snow last year at Ricks has been replaced with a new shed. We finished up around 3:30 or so leaving the kids with the last roof panel and a group of trim boards to finish installing. It was a small turn-out but any more would have been too many.
As with all construction kits there is always a lot of left over hardware, yesterday there was even a few left over construction pieces, a bracket or two, the odd brace, a couple support pieces. These lead to blank expressions, re-reading instructions, and some scratching of the head. But at the end it was decided the best thing to do was to save them, maybe someday if the building has a sag or a list the reason these items were included with the kit may become understood.
