What the heck happened yesterday?

While I was at work, and you were ... where ever you were...Something happened...

Somebody was busy...

And things don't look the same anymore.

The Club grounds were cleaned up, the large piles of wood and brush and clutter were burned...

The Shed was emptied, reorganized and the years of accumulated clutter disposed of....

The inside of the Club had a major clutter check, with all the old flyer's and paperwork made to disappear...

The upstairs has been cleaned and straightened out and the back room (kitchen) had the same thing done to it.

But... All that is hardly noticeable... because something bigger was done...

And this is what the Club looked like this morning.

The Pavilion is well under way, This summer should find you sitting in the shade on hot days or under cover in the rain.

Never be afraid of getting what you want

Picture yourself in a restaurant, you're looking a menu, it's breakfast, there is something on it that you want, but you are sitting with a bunch of bikers. Sure the only difference between the meal you want and the one you don't is one item, in this case,  pancakes. But the name...

You just know...

if you order what you want someone will say something.

The choice is two eggs, bacon, home fries, toast, and pancakes, or two eggs bacon, home fries, toast and french toast.

You think to yourself, "Hey, French toast is good, there's nothing feminine about French toast...is there?"

Then you think, there must be something sissy about it, after all, why would they name it that if it were he man?

You know what, to hell with what they think, so what if I end up in the blog.

So, you wait for the waitress to come over, and in your deepest, masculine voice you order your breakfast,..."I would like the Woman's Breakfast please".

See no one really busted your stones about it, and it would have never made the blog,,, until you mentioned you were afraid it would.

So here you go Dale, you made the blog.

Getting old

It happens to all of us, time passes, we get older...

You still hang out with the younger guys but your lines droop a little and you're a little grey'er..

You find that you're not as regular as you used to be,
and you get plugged up easier
(Metal fillings in the oil pressure switch)

Sometimes your drive isn't what it used to be and they have to get in there and look for the issues

(Chain lube sleeve shredded)

Some days you end up at the doctors, they'll call it a procedure...

(Gas spilling on the ground, motorcycle lift Calvary style, Chain and sleeve replacment)

So you see, getting old isn't easy, you have a lifetime of mileage on you and once in a while...
It's just easier to take the Senior Citizen transport instead of driving.

These photos are from Evert's blog...
The Alaska trip.

For some fantastic scenery photos and a good story check out his blog:

Also, be sure to read Tom's story of the trip, it is on the NLMC website, "Road Captain's Blog" on the Longriders tab.

You know...Seeing these pictures of Tom on his back in Canada and Alaska goes a long way in explaining why his patch looks like it does, a combination of Wind burn, age lines and years of eating Road dust and dirt.
