On April 13th a $200 donation was made
at the Twisted Sister 5th Annual Biker Breakout Breakfast in support of the
Prudence Crandall Center – Breaking the cycle of domestic violence one person
at a time.
Another $200 was donated to
the Shoreline Riders’ Shaken Baby Awareness Benefit on April 19th.
This past week a number of members visited the Waterford
Country School and Covenant Shelter to deliver the
donations generated by the Blessing at the Beach. ($250 for the
school and $1000 for the shelter).
They were surprised to
learn that the Waterford Country School takes in animals for the children to
work with and learn about. They are also looking for volunteers. The executive
board is considering future events at both of these institutions.
There were about 25
members at the New England Regional Chili Cookoff last
Saturday for the benefit of the Patriot Guard Riders and the Somers Fire Dept.
to which we made a $200 donation.
About 20 members attended
the Moose Club’s Poker Run the following day and donated about
$300.
Today the NLMC Team participated in the Center
for Hospice Care: Walk 2014! They raised a total of $350.
