Plans

Another day staring at the walls....

For the third day in a row the computer system at work is not at work, so lets go over what is going on...

Monday September 10th, there is another all night cruise to New York City. The Club has had members participate the last two years. The first year being the most fun in that the promoters were expecting around 800 to 1000 bikes and over 7000 showed up. The route broke mid way through so an awful lot of bikes got separated and went cruising Manhattan streets that were not expecting motorcycles. It was a blast!!!
Last year they were more on top of the situation and the ride stayed together. Still everyone had a fantastic night.

If you have not done the 911 memorial Ride I strongly suggest you do. It is an experience, You get to spend the night with friends on bikes, have a wonderful ride west through Connecticut (we used the Merritt two years ago and the ride was great), into New York State, (down the Hutch), across the Tri-Boro into Queens to Northern Blvd, Long Island City. If you have not ridden a bike in The Great City of New York you are missing an experience you will not forget. Once there and grouped together "Blocks of Bikes". (worthy of photography) the ride heads west through Queens and across the Ed Koch/Queensboro Bridge into Manhattan. From there the ride proceeds to the west side and south to Battery Park and Ground Zero.

After leaving the site the ride back is enjoyable, I myself prefer running up the west side, on West Street, picking up the Henry Hudson Expressway (parkway), grabbing the Saw Mill River parkway north, Then the Cross County Parkway. At 1am there is no traffic and the Cross County has great sweeping turns. onto the Hutch then you can either take 287 south to 95 into Ct. or stay on the Hutch back to the Merritt. There is a fuel and coffee stop on the Merritt then you can run back to 95 in Milford, .  If you opt for 287 to 95, the Greenwich rest area is also available.

This, in my opinion, is a Ride you have to take. If not for the ride itself, then to be at The World Trade Center and the Battery on the Anniversary of 911 with that many people in attendance.  Believe me, this ride you will never forget.

Now...all that being said...I will not be going. The electrical issue with Charlene has spread from the Neutral light, to the security light, to the 6th gear indicator, to the security system itself. last night it took forever trying to get the system to bypass, clear up, or "feel better" so the bike would start and I could get home.

Charlene is home and resting comfortably in her room. She will be seeing the doctors next week,

if she starts.
