Disc's

I am a little slow at getting things done lately, including scanning the old Club documents, (an on going adventure). Between the State, the Soc.Security Offices, the Lawyers, and other crap that goes with Title 19 everything just gets pushed aside.  That said...

I have run off the disc's of Rick's photos for Rick's family and am going to get them delivered to his nephew. But I am wondering if anyone else may want a copy. These pictures were used as the slide show for his memorial service. If you are interested see me at a meeting or click on the comment field below and leave me a message. (Will not be posted)

Ride for the Cure Suggestion

The ride was pretty nice,(could have been longer, by about 300 miles or so, but that's just me).  The food was pretty good, it was too hot to eat much, and I didn't see anybody fall down, so that was ok. (not as funny as if they did..but) I did see one area that could use addressing.

After the ride everyone comes back to the school on Old Colchester rd. But except for the ever present sun there is nothing there, just motorcycles and pavement reflecting heat. they should think about having someone there with cold drinks, even if they are selling them. And a bush...to pee behind...Maybe a big bush, the ladies may need to go also.

The Ride for the Cure

What can I say about yesterday's ride...Well...the most prevelant thing that comes to mind was...the heat. It was HOT...Damn HOT!!! My bike spent most of it's idle time idling on one cylinder (the rear cut out for cooling).

We left Dunkin about 10 after 10 and headed up 163 to the school for the meet. We registered then stood around...sweating. After losing copious amounts of body coolant we jumped on the bikes headed up Old Colchester road to 82 and ran on that up to Gillette Castle. From there we jumped on a few back roads and made our next stop at Pappy O'Donalds, or was it Jimmy two shoes...nope Smokey O'Grady's BBQ and Pub, that its. We waited here for a bit waiting for three bikes to catch up, one with carb issues and two support bikes. Once back together we cut across Long Crossing rd (I believe) to route 16. We followed 16 to rte 2 to 11 to Lake Haywood rd to 354 and back to Old Colchester rd for the return to the school. After standing around at the school waiting for more riders everyone got together and headed up 163 to the park.

At the Park we ate and listened to the Band, one of the Submarine Vets Riders received a call from his wife who told him Baltic was getting slammed with a thunderstorm and the word spread. Quite a few riders headed out.
