Remember-When you call in a reservation tell the reservationist you are with the New London Motorcycle Club or Jim Moran block of rooms. Again, the Naswa, Laconia is the only lodging that does not refund either nights lodging if you cancel. All others have cancellation policies, usually 72 hours, so book even if you are not positive because these are popular destinations and if you snooze you loose. Also, let me know if you have booked a room so I can include you on the roster.

Jim

From the President...Again

Bad news! Apparently we snoozed. The Southfleet Motor Inn in Wellfleet booked a large wedding party and only have 9 rooms left. According to the commitment list we need 14 rooms and I am sure others may want to go. The only other option without upsetting our calendar is to book the weekend of June 4th and 5th to get the off season rates, which was the weekend the camping trip was originally scheduled then cancelled. Anyway, if your name is on the roster I need to hear from you soon. I think I will set up Indian Head now so we don’t loose that one.

Jim

From the President

I know you have been hanging on the edge of your seat waiting for this and now it's here.

From the President

Now that the Bike Blessing is behind us we can re-direct our focus.

* Club Property Clean Up soon to be scheduled

* Moving toward a roof over the cement slab/foundation

* Riding Events

* Weekend trips

Some who indicated they are interested in the weekend trips have yet to book their rooms. It may not be too late but it will get more challenging. NEW members who are interested should click on the provided attachments for information on the trips, and booking information.

Note: All lodging except the Naswa in Laconia have cancellation policies. So you should book now and if an issue arises cancel later. Also, Naswa is offering a single night stay option for a week before booking if they are not full, for those who were planning to run up and back in one day. We have been booking for Laconia and Lake Placid. I have 12 room block reserved on Cape Cod which will have to be activated this week. Soon thereafter the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, New Hampshire will also need to be booked. We have some time before booking Rockport. The Camping Trip to Pennsylvania has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.

Whenever and whatever you book, notify my so I can add you to the rosters.

Friday, July 30th - Sunday, August 1st.

Read trailering message

Traditionally NLMC supports PGR missions relevant to soldiers have have been killed in current day combat. However this is in our back yard, and though this is not a sanctioned NLMC Honor Guard mission, I wanted to you to have the info in the event you are available and would like to join Jack Mason and PGR.

The PGR has a 10:00am AOB at the Flag Pole Submarine Vet Memorial at the Intersection of Bridge Street and Thames Street, just down from Norms Diner. In fact I will through out a 9:00am meet for breakfast at Norms. I am working but if I am not otherwise distracted I may meet there as well.
Fellow Patriot Guard and associates;

It rained out today...

The hopes of a ride from the Club up to Columbia went up in smoke, OR more accurately down the drain.With light rain falling in the morning and heavier rain expected the group started arriving in 4 wheeled vehicles, around 8am. Bubba had already come through, by the time the first of us arrived he had coffee and donuts on hand. At 9am the group played follow the leader up 395, 2a, 32,87, and 66 on the way to Columbia for the NRA handgun safety course. This course is step one in accessing a State handgun permit. The bunch sat down for the eight hour, (10am-6pm) course...

I am very happy to say everyone passed and are one step closer to being armed and dangerous...

One note though....

One of our members got a little confused during live fire, He decided to fire on a target not assigned to him.

So if ever the @#$% were to hit the fan, the headline afterwards may read, Motorcyclist dumps three rounds into own Club member before switching targets.

Hey, Mistakes will happen, the victim may get better.
While you may want me to say who it was, out of fairness, I have decided not to...after all we are all human, (at least we are up to the point he starts shooting)

But for the safety of the Club and your own well being I have decided to leave a clue to his identity, after-all, it may be you who he decides to open up on as he scans for a legit target.

Youngest member, rides a smaller cruiser, smiles alot, you know who...right?

Shhh...remember...no names

(I love writing this blog, I get to rat out everyone)

Saturday, April 24th,

My day started with water in the basement again, this time it was the water tank for the well, a Plumber and $650.00 dollars later and my day was going o/k. I ran up to Jerry's house to see if he wanted to ride,he told me Linda's bike (Schwarz not Grasser) was not running, it would cruise along until you let go of the throttle then it would stall. I took it for a spin and found them to be right, So I cranked up the idle on it, and it would slam when you shifted gears, still take your hand off the throttle and it would die. Linda has a starter bike, a Kawasaki 125, and the dealer was going to pick it up, sometime, no definite time, so until they showed Jerry was stuck at home, so we pulled out his FXDL and installed the accessories he received for Christmas. (Jerry is a little slow at change). Once done I suggested we say the hell with the dealer, the sun was shining, and we were wasting ride time, I said let's throw the "mini bike" in the back of the truck and drop it off at New England Cycle Works. He said that would be a pain in the ass, and suggested he ride it over and drop it off and I give him a ride back for his. So, he volunteered for a double embarrassing morning, not only was he going to ride his girls putt, but he was going to ride Bitch back to his house.

I can say he actually got the thing up to 55mph at one point, it sounded like it was going to cough up a lung. Sorry no pictures of him "all back of the bike".

Once on his own bike we filled up, and washed the bikes, believe me, they needed it,after riding in the thunderstorm on Thursday night, then we headed to Norm's for lunch.

From Norm's we ran to the Clubhouse to meet up with the rest Club heading to Ron's (Greybeard's) Dedication.

Arriving at Ron's a tree was planted in remembrance of Ron and most of his ashes were poured into the root base, the rest went back to the Clubhouse to be deposited there as per Ron's request.

Even Charlie K. made the ride, he rode up with Linda G.

After the dedication the Club escorted the Family and Friends back to the Clubhouse for a get together and food.

I an suppose to mention that besides myself, Dan the 2nd VP was a Road Guard today...

                           Dan was a Blocker,
